Welcome to July/August DHM Reflections & Ripples 'blogpost'
Summer break is over and its time to catch you guys up!
It’s been a time of ups and downs this last two months. I have had space to look back on the last 10 months of my life now I am part of DHM and take a minute to thank God for all He has done, is doing and continues to do. Working in ministry is the absolute dream for me, I said it in my first blog & I pray I keep saying it … this does not feel like ‘work’.
I mean does this look like 3 people ‘working’?
The above photo was taken at Tobar Mhuire where Fergus Peter & myself had a beautiful day together. We took time in the prayer garden,
we walked through the chapel & took in the sculptures of the Chapel Square. A lovely balance of seeking Gods face, praying together & a little work.

Reflections
So. Much. Happens. So. Quickly.
Hands up if you have heard about Forrest Frank?
On July 19, 2025, Frank announced that he had sustained multiple fractures to his L3 and L4 vertebrae in his back after falling off a skateboard while playing with his son, this was captured on their ring doorbell.
Then on August 3, 2025, Frank released an Instagram reel showing his back was miraculously healed overnight. In the video he is standing, wearing his back brace for 'precaution' Frank goes on to show that he ordered an emergency X-ray, which showed that his L3 and L4 vertebrae were completely healed.
His recovery lasted 14 days, while, according to medics the average recovery for two broken vertebrae is 6-12 weeks.
During this time Forrest wrote the hit song Lemonade
and Gods got my back
During his 14 days in his bed he continued to listen for Gods voice and see his goodness in his situation.
We still see God in action performing miracles
but what happens when healing doesn't come how you wanted it to? What happens when you pray your biggest faith filled prayers to see healing and it doesn't look how you asked for it?
Well I'll tell you what happened to me shall I?
A community of people gathered at the Royal Victoria Hospital one evening and we worshipped God, we threw up our prayer arrows, we CRIED OUT TO THE LORD and yet we still laid to rest young Joshua. A boy who shone Jesus, who held to Gods promises so tightly he would have put me to shame, a boy who encouraged others and spoke boldly of ‘his Jesus’. I have no answers for this. I took a minute (or slightly longer) to remember that God is good, but I do know Joshua is now fully healed and restored and has joined the many other saints before him singing ‘holy holy holy’ in the heavenlies. He is at peace.
And he has changed lives. He has changed mine.
We may speak about a place where there are no tears, no death, no fear, no night; but those are just the benefits of heaven. The beauty of heaven is seeing God. Max Lucado
Other reflections …
My friend signed up to do the Alpha course (I have been asking her to go for 10 years – never stop asking people).
I went to Newcastle Upon Tyne to visit one of my very best friends for her 50th birthday. I got to travel solo which was a joy! I love travelling with my kids, but I felt like such a grown up in the airport all by myself with my Starbucks coffee!
The team had a day in Belfast praying, aptly named ‘The Unity Walk’
I visited ‘Harrys place’ in Ballynahinch and got to see the behind the scenes work they do.
Harry’s Place is on High Street Ballynahinch, it hosts a range of facilities and services to empower those with a Learning Disability, socially, creatively, economically, sustainably in a safe and encouraging environment within the local community.
Oh and they are fully vegan, and you cannot taste the difference!
Baby Rose is 6 months old now! We are prepping her for her first service lead. She's a natural.
I had an informal review with DHM (they are keeping me on - phew)
I took part in a ladies event at my own church - Sit & Sip - and we had a ball. It was a very relaxed informal evening.
You can judge my artwork below (I'm no Aly Harte)
Speaking of Aly Harte … she will be one of the guest speakers at the Daughters event we are hosting this month (its already happened by the time you read this) … so more on this in the next blog!
Hopefully you came along
DHM donated 50 New Testament & Psalms to Carrickfergus Elim
Lastly THE MARCH FOR JESUS HAPPENED!
Check out all about it on our Facebook or Instagram pages.
We have had several meetings already this month as we start to look into what 2026 holds for the ministry. Keep praying for us as a team, as a community and as a ministry.
This months fun fact
We all know that palm trees don't snap in hurricanes. They bend, lean low (sometimes nearly horizontal) but they rise again when the storm passes, but here's what really undid me.
It's not just their flexibility, it's their roots.
Palm trees intertwine their roots with others nearby – quietly, underground - creating a bond that makes them nearly unshakable.
In other words their strength is multiplied in community.
And I thought isn't that how we're meant to live?
Not self-sufficient. Not performing our way through the storm. But rooted. Supported. Held up by one another when our own strength fails.
And it reminded me of a promise “the righteous will flourish like a palm tree” (Psalm 92:12)
We flourish not because WE are unshakeable but because we are rooted in something and someone deeper.
Let's keep showing up for each other and being the roots someone else can hold on.

How to bless your kids before they head out the door
The kids are starting back to school and I read this over the summer
(this could be applied to ANYONE in my opinion).
*Lay your hand gently on their shoulder and pray, even just a sentence ask Jesus to go before them and give them peace
*Speak identity over them 'you are a child of God you are strong you are made for this moment'
*Look them in the eyes and say I'm proud of you
*Give them a long slow hug
*Smile. Like really smile, let your face remind them you delight in them
*Tell them ‘You’re never alone Jesus walks with you today'
*Declare scripture over them
*Slip a note in their bag that says I love you and I am praying for you
*Remind them they are Gods masterpiece
*Remind them no matter what happens today you and I will figure it out together
*Tell them you don't have to be perfect just being you that's enough
*Bless their shoes or their backpack pray over everywhere they will go every step they will take and every space they will enter
*Ask them how you can pray for them
*Play worship music - set the spiritual tone of your home
*Speak these words you are deeply loved nothing will change that
*Finish with this I believe in a God who made you to be, go shine!
Praying blessings over all the kids returning or beginning school this month
PS the Christmas range has been launched click the image below to check it out
I will finish with a scripture shared by Joshua Wallace who will forever remain in our hearts.
“As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the LORD, “so will your name and descendants endure.
Isaiah 66:22
Amen.
Yes, Joshua changed me too.
ReplyDeleteLove the Palm Tree reminder of the strength of being bound together in God’s Kingdom. Thankyou Sharon. Joshua was an example to us with his radiant joy, his delightful smile and his love of God and his word. Thankful to have journeyed with his family and the prayer community over these months and to see God at work. As with my husband who died a number of years ago God answers prayers even when it’s not what we had hoped for. His presence and blessing of hope and joy in the midst of sorrow keep us lifted up and carried forward.
ReplyDeleteAnother great blog. I love hearing what is happening with DHM and feeling the love and support of such a great community. 🌴
