March 2025 Reflections & Ripples

Welcome to the DHM Reflections & Ripples

Blog #3 – time is flying !

As you all now know Sarah and Peter have had 6 (blissful) weeks of baby Rose. Fergus and I had the privilege of meeting her and I can confirm she is indeed a wee dote and Fergus is the baby whisperer.

We are so thankful for this little lady. She is a part of the next generation coming through with a zeal for Jesus and all things Kingdom. The youth of today really is on fire for the Lord and it’s great to see.

Nicky Gumbel shared an article written by Chris Hastings this month that said

‘While 25 per cent of Gen X – born between 1965 and 1980 – identify as atheist, only 20 per cent of millennials do (those born between 1981 and 1996), and 13 per cent of Gen Z’

For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord,

    my confidence since my youth.

Psalm 71:5

March has been brilliant!

This month has had A LOT going on (not least my first ever AGM)!

More meetings, more prayer time, more opportunities to share Gods word.

More time to sit back & listen to God. More, more, more – life in abundance!

March also had some significant dates.

March 5th saw the beginning of lent – did anyone give anything up?

International Woman’s Day was March 8th

In 2018 a very dear friend of mine held an exhibition in the Long Gallery in Parliament Buildings Stormont depicting various women from her life, she painted a portrait of my good self for the exhibition which then went on tour across Northern Ireland.

Click the image below to read about the exhibition.

(I was very pregnant in this photo)

Aly Harte was the very first Christian I ever met that made me think ‘Yes I think I want what she has.’

Aly had/has Jesus in her heart and joy oozing from her. When we first met I couldn’t believe she was a Christian because she was just so much fun! And Aly is a very critical part of how I found myself office manager at DHM.

After I had Jacob I returned to work, but my heart wasn’t in it. I knew I wanted more time at home with him and God stepped in. As it would happen Aly runs her own very successful art business and needed a personal assistant. Over lunch one day we found that her needs and my needs could be met in a mutually beneficial arrangement. And so began my time as Personal Assistant to Aly Harte. It was a truly blessed time in my life.

I learnt so much during my time with Aly that when I read the job description for DHM I was confident I could handle it all because the roles were so similar.

Of course, I now look back and I know these plans had already been made.

The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him

Psalm 37:23

Aly not only runs a very successful art business which sees her display her work around the world, she is also a qualified PT and Pilates instructor.

St Patricks Day March 17th

March 15th was my parent's GOLDEN wedding anniversary.

It was also my 10-year anniversary of being saved!!

10 whole years of knowing God as my Lord and Saviour. What a 10 years it has been.

This year on my anniversary date I was leading a group as part of my own Church Alpha programme in what was our 'Holy Spirit Day'.

I had the privilege of praying with two of our guests as they accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. I couldn’t help but feel the emotions as I looked back on how far God has brought me.

Isn't He good ?

30th March was Mothering Sunday

Mothers Day is hit and miss for me.

I am not one for dates and anniversaries, but for Jacob it is such a big deal. He loves to fuss over me and celebrate me (& help eat my Ferrero Rocher). His handmade card from school means more to me than any card bought in a shop.

My love language is not gifts, I would prefer a day at the beach with him than a bunch of flowers that die within the week (don't get me wrong I LOVE getting flowers but when it comes to my kids I just want their time).

Quality time with quality people is what matters (to me).

Did the mothers amongst us have a good day?

Terrible picture but hopefully a good message - click the link above to hear my message

The Mother Heart of The Father God

So you ask ... what's been going on all month?

The DHM men nipped to Dublin for an evening at Avila. By all reports a splendid time was had and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the time.

We had our services in St Patricks with guest speakers David Hamilton, Harry Smith and YOU! You guys sharing testimonies is exactly why we do what we do.

Keep sharing it is so encouraging.

Acts 13:15

After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent word to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have a word of exhortation for the people, please speak.”

Rev Pat Mollan brought Gods word at St Finnian's this month and you can catch that again on YouTube.

Larne IDHM had a message of Healing from our very own Naomi McClelland

We had worship from Allan Bruce, Paul & Beulah Shields, James Turner and our very own Fergus McMorrow.

We had a day of prayer in the office for DHM and it was truly special. We lifted His name on high and gave thanks while taking time to listen and lean in to what God has to say.

The AGM! How exciting! What a way to spend your Friday afternoon. I know we joke about it but to be fair I had a good time, the accountant gave us the green light to keep going, Fergus put together a great directors’ report and Evelyn brought amazing chocolate cake. Don did a great job of keeping us on point while Bob did a top-notch job with the minutes.

Fergus, Peter and I went to meet a potential supplier - keep your eyes open for future branded apparel! While out we had a coffee and some much-needed time to reflect on everything we are working towards (developing HIS ministry).

  Daughters of The King

I have such a heart for women. Women finding their worth in Christ. Women knowing who they are in Christ. Women sharing space to deepen their faith in Christ. Women. All of us. Together.

So I set up (within YouVersion Bible app) a profile & I am inviting you to come along and read the plans with me. Each month I will choose a topical study between 14-25 days long and you can start it any date you wish. You can dip in and out, you can leave notes, highlights verses, add a prayer. Or you can simply read. There is no pressure here. It is simply a way to engage us with His word and honour Him.

Email me and I will send you the link to join

I will also send an email inviting everyone but please gentlemen this is a ladies only group. Feel free to share with friends, we welcome all ladies whether a part of DHM or not.

 Proverbs 16:24 tells us

"Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body."

I mentioned above about Aly who is credited with being my first Christian friend. Friendship is SO important to me. If we are friends then I'M IN, I don't do half measures.

Did you know there was a study where people stood at the bottom of a hill and had to judge how steep it was. People accompanied by a friend when they were doing this said that the hill was less steep compared to people who were alone, just because you're standing next to somebody you love, your brain perceives the hill as easier to climb.

They also found that the closer you are to that friend the less steep the hill looks.

A further study shows that having a 12 minute talk with a friend can change your whole way of thinking.

I will always have 12 minutes for you.

The picture above is a card that another friend sent me. But, funny story, we have never met in real life.

Stephanie and I met online, we met via a group for people who had decided to give up alcohol as a lifestyle choice. And we just hit it off. We encourage each other, we listen to each other, we pray for each other and our families. Steph and I are 100% going to meet one day but for now we chat daily in messages and voice notes.

I’ll let you all know when I am heading to Lees Summit, Kansas City!

A TRUE FRIEND WARMS YOU WITH THEIR PRESENCE. TRUSTS YOU WITH THEIR SECRETS. AND REMEMBERS YOU IN THEIR PRAYERS.

The Balmoral Show May 14th - 17th May

Its not too late to sign up and help us out at The Balmoral Show, we have a stall inside the Shopping Village and I found out this week that the Dancing Diggers are making an appearance for the first time in 30 years! I for one am excited to see that. I am however more excited to see how God works in and through us on the old maze prison site!

Prayer points & Testimonies

I have had so many prayer appointments this month and my little Ford Focus became a war room on one occasion with a gorgeous lady from Donegal. God is not restricted by our location or circumstances. I mean the people walking past thought I was a bit mad but that's ok right?!

If you would like prayer via zoom, drop an email to sharon@divinehealingministries.org and don’t forget to send me your testimonies too.

Caroline shared this testimony of a miracle

My son’s future father in law was very ill and had to have a steel rod inserted in his back in 2011. In time he was only able to shuffle a few steps with a stick and was in a lot of pain. He was suffering from a rare syndrome.

As time went on I was concerned that Sam was not going to live long enough to see David and Kat married. I went for prayer. The prayer was fantastic and was answered. Sam was able to walk his daughter Kat up the aisle. It was a truly joyous occasion. Sam lived for another 11 years with the help of dialysis. I thank and praise God for His Miracle.

March prayer points

O High King of Heaven, have mercy on our land. Revive your people. Send the Holy Spirit for the sake of the children, the lost, the least and the broken. May Your Kingdom Come to our nation in Jesus' mighty name.

Amen.

Last month I asked you to pray for the land and I spotted a survey done online that says BELFAST is the happiest place in the UK. Let's keep praying for our land and see the JOY that is salvation rise up!

Can we pray for the mourners this month? We have all suffered loss and somedays are easier than others but knowing you are being held in prayer by a kingdom family can get us through a day a little easier.

Bless those who mourn, eternal God, with the comfort of your love that they may face each new day with hope and the certainty that nothing can destroy the good that has been given. May their memories be joyful, their days enriched with friendship, and their lives encircled by your love.

Spring is here. The clocks have changed.

Isaiah 43:19

"See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

   and streams in the wasteland"

Amen.

** you may have been a little overwhelmed by the amount of emails this month and I am sorry about that, more haste, less speed from me going forward - bear with me as I find a rhythm that works**

In Christ,

Sharon

If you have made it this far well done. I would love for you to leave a comment on the blog as it helps with the engagement and helps me to build it up to reach more people.

February 2025 Reflections & Ripples

Welcome to the second DHM Reflections & Ripples 'blogpost'  We had such wonderful feedback from last month’s blog, so the pressure is on to keep the standard high. The first point of business has to be the birth of Peter & Sarah’s baby ….. …..drumroll please ….    ITS A GIRL !!     As you may or may not know our Peter and his wife Sarah had a beautiful baby girl mid-February and they have named her Rose. I have no doubt they will share more of their exciting news in their own time but for now let’s thank God for this precious gift. ‘For every good and perfect thing is from above’ James 1:17    February was exactly how God planned it. It has gone by in the blink of an eye and as always (I am discovering this more and more in DHM) the list keeps growing because the Kingdom of God has no end.     So now that February is done & we are about to ‘Spring’ into March, I for one am ready to see the back end of the cold weather. That...

January 2025 Reflections & Ripples

Welcome to the very first DHM Reflections & Ripples 'blogpost'  I will be your host, Sharon Jennings , and it is my absolute joy to serve our Lord alongside you. The thinking behind this blog came after a very fruitful, very fun and very blessed time with myself, Fergus and our treasurer George. I was asked to create something 'fun' to let our community know what happens 'behind the scenes' on a monthly basis (because there is ALOT and nobody wants to just read announcements!)  So here it is .. let me know if you love it or loathe it because it's my first blog and I'm still learning! January was BUSY, but fruitful .. below are some team highlights (the reflections) We shared a powerful video testimony of healing from Joe Donaldson which our very talented Peter Kirch put together on Cavehill.  If you haven't watched this yet you can catch up here. As a team we decided to freshen up our look, none of us are getting any younger,  jokes, jokes!...
