Welcome to the SIXTH DHM Reflections & Ripples 'blogpost'
I can't believe I have been doing this for 6 months now!
Did any of you guess correctly where I was last month? Obviously it was Greece but specifically the beautiful greek island of Rhodes. And for the first time ever in Rhodes I experienced rain! Warm rain, but rain nonetheless.
Jacob and I had the best time making memories & just hanging out together.
I tried to convince the family that I should go back in September just by myself for a rest but nobody agreed with me ...
Reflections this month
What a month! Phew ... I'll just be over here catching my breath (not least from the cèile)
I will start by sharing this testimony, this happened in May at our service at St Patricks when we had Deacon Larry & Andy Oney visit with us.
On a night when a band parade threatened to not allow people though we had the most wonderful time and the Holy Spirit was there doing what the Holy Spirit does!.
Watch Wesley walking here.
Here goes ...
May ended with our new and updated prayer ministry course hosted at Larne Christian Fellowship, we had over 50 people sign up to this course & the feedback has been amazing. If you or anyone you know would be interested in attending our training course drop an email to office@divinehealingministries.org
We had fantastic speakers this month, Brian Armstrong from Transform the World speaking.
Then we celebrated pentecost at St Patricks having been led in worship by James Turner.
Kelvin McCracken led a days training again in Larne Christian Fellowship titled 'Breaking the Bonds of Freemasonry.’
The Celtic Nations Tour arrived at St Finnian's and you can catch the 'Irish leg' of that tour by clicking on the YouTube video below
Next up was Stuart Gibson, followed by Sarah Kirch and finally we closed with Holy Communion before our summer break.
All our previous services can be found by following the link below.
You can help us by sharing the videos, liking, subscribing, engaging .. Peter would be forever grateful !
Bob Loade, who is an absolute legend of a man, took the 72 mile Camino de Santiago walk to raise funds for DHM. He reached, and surpassed, his fundraising target and kept us all informed along the way with beautiful photos & prayers.
Read all about that walk here (in Bobs own words) & it's not too late to donate.
We had Holy Communion at St Finnian's
We prayed for our land at St Patricks
Our team gathered at the office for a time of prayer
John Wilson brought the word of God at Shankill Methodist
Fergus was at Summer Madness in Portglenone where over 1800 young people come together to worship, pray & testify of Gods goodness.
Brother David led a wonderful closing holy communion at St Patrick’s where he encouraged us to remain in the presence of God. I have been praying as he suggested ‘Bless (insert name) in the name of Jesus and give me a loving heart towards them’
and this one - ‘may I never take my hand out of the unseen hand of the Lord Jesus Christ’
And last but not least .... we had our Annual DHM Trivia Quiz ( my team came last so next year I am open to changing members ) followed by a C èile !
The craic was ninety !
The QuizMaster was also 90 ... (kidding Morris)
If you missed the quiz here is one for you ..... what movie features the quote 'Go Ahead... make my day'
Well done to the winners !
Come up for air
I learnt something the other day. Do you know how most whales die? They drown. They spend their entire life living in and swimming in a world that eventually kills them. Do you know why that is? Whales are mammals. Most mammals walk on the face of the earth, but the whales live in a world that they are not of. They are in the water, but they are not of the water. So, while other fish can swim around for their entire life with gills breathing in the water, the whale has to come up out of the water to live. There is a life source that is not in the world that he lives in, and he needs access to.
You are in this world, but you are not of this world. We can be working on our mental health, working on our physical health, eating right, working out, sleeping well, doing all the right stuff but still not have peace.
We know if we're hungry, we know we need to eat, we know if we're thirsty, we need to drink. If we're tired, we know we need rest, if we're stressed out, we know we need to work on our mental health. But are we aware of how to pay attention to our spiritual needs?
You are not just the mind. You are not just the body, you are a spirit, wrapped up in the flesh of a man and a woman, and in this life, you need God. There's no other way around it. You need God.
You need to pray. You need to worship. You need to seek your space. You need to read your word, because in this life, if you don't learn how to come up for air, you will drown.
FLOWERS.
Huge fan. Wild flowers. Tame flowers. Sunflowers. All flowers,
so pretty..
so fragrant..
If you haven't already can I encourage you to go to the Rose week at Lady Dixons.
The prep work is underway already and it is so beautiful.
My son picked me wild flowers while out walking the dog with his Daddy. Interesting that so quickly after they were pulled from their life source the petals start to drop off. Not an instant 'death' but a slow unassuming droop which eventually left them wilted & not looking too good.
Don't be like the wildflowers. Keep your roots deep in the source.
John 15:5
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
Ripples - Prayer points & Testimonies
Testimonies this month have been amazing !
Please send them via email to sharon@divinehealingministries.org you can send a video or typed message...all are valuable.
Gwen has been in pain for 40 years, she came to St Patricks and received prayer (another night people struggled to get through due to the trouble our wee country was/is seeing). Bless you Gwen for your faithfulness, the pain is gone & we agree it will not return.
William shared this beautiful testimony
In December 2023 I was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. It was a moment that changed everything. The road ahead looked uncertain and frightening. I remember the weight of those early conversations with doctors, the fear in my family's eyes, and the quiet moments alone when it all felt too much to bear. My body felt weak. I knew I couldn't face this on my own. Through every test every round of treatment and every sleepless night I leaned on God. I prayed not just for healing, but for peace for courage and for strength to face each day as it came, some days were incredibly hard. There were moments I thought I couldn't keep going, but I knew I was never truly alone. My faith reminded me that even in the storm, there was purpose. One particular moment stands out on my journey, and I believe it was a divine appointment. I attended a healing service at St Finnian’s. The pastor spoke about God's power to heal and make peace when it came for time for prayer, I went forward with trembling steps. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I knew I needed to be with God. The pastor gently laid his hands on me and began to pray with such conviction and compassion that I felt an overwhelming presence of peace, like warm oil being poured over my heart. In that moment, something shifted inside me. I can't fully explain it, but I knew God was working in me physically emotionally, and spiritually. From that day on, I faced treatment with a different kind of strength. I was still on the journey, but I was no longer afraid. I knew the lord was with me, and by the grace of God, I completed treatment the following year something I had once doubted was even possible. I stand here today, not just as someone who has overcome a cancer journey, but as someone who was carried through it by the hand of God. The same God who met me in my brokenness, who used doctors and nurses as instruments healing, who placed people in my life to pray encourage and lift me up. God is faithful. He never left me even when things looked hopeless. He surrounded me with his love and gave me his peace and when healing came, it wasn't just for my body. It was for my soul.
God is Good.
Summer prayer points
The kids are off for the summer, hooray say the mums who are fed up making packed lunches & finding lost shoes. But ... there is added pressure from kids being off school. Let's keep families in prayer. For some kids school is their safe space, their warm space, or the place they get a warm meal. That can sound extreme but it is the reality for some families.
Kids are getting exam results in August .. the work is done but the results are looming.
'cast all your anxiety him because he cares for you'
I suggested at St Patricks last week that we all choose one person to pray for over our summer break. If you weren't there can I encourage you to storm the gates of heaven for someone?
And lastly we have so many people fighting illnesses (some seen, some unseen) and I don't know them all. But I do know 2.
Please pray for a healing miracle for Janet
and also for the touch of Jesus for Una
Ephesians 2:4-5
"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved"
Amen.
